They time the ferries so that when you board the first one for Long Island (a short 5 minute crossing) the second ferry for Brier Island is there waiting so you just get onto that one straight away for another short 5 minute crossing. The Grand Passage Ferry would be the 2nd ferry you need to take to make your way to Brier Island, it's a short jaunt taking you across from Long Island and the usual fee of $7 was waived at the time of our visit (we were told this was due to Covid).
